Child Care Business and Entrepreneurship Lab
Aspiring childcare entrepreneurs are invited to join the Child Care Business and Entrepreneurship Lab, a transformative six-month cohort-based program starting in June 2025. This intensive program equips participants with the tools, knowledge, and resources needed to launch a high-quality childcare business successfully.
The program offers a comprehensive blueprint for building financially viable businesses. It guides participants through the licensing process and connects them to potential startup capital. Participants can collaborate with peers, earn industry-recognized credentials, and develop sustainable business models that support families and create jobs in their communities.
Program Highlights
Earn Industry Credential: All participants will be enrolled in Southern Crescent Technical College's two-semester Early Childhood Education Technical Certificate of Completion program.
Business Coaching: Each cohort will be assigned a business coach to provide personalized guidance.
Startup Funding Opportunity: Participants will compete for $5,000 in startup funding to help launch their businesses.
Networking Benefits: All participants will receive a one-year membership to their local Chamber of Commerce to expand their professional connections.
Who Should Apply?
This program is designed for individuals passionate about child care and entrepreneurship, especially those interested in opening a Family Childcare Learning Home or Childcare Learning Center that support local families by providing quality care for children and enabling parents to return to work.
